Your world lives in your head. Loreleaf gives it a home — without giving it away.
Loreleaf is designed around a single promise: nothing you write ever leaves your device. There are no accounts to create, no servers to sign in to, and no analytics watching what you do. This page explains exactly what that means.
The short version: Loreleaf does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data or any of your writing. All of your worlds, entries, notes, images, and relationships stay on your device.
None. Loreleaf has no backend, no user accounts, and no telemetry. We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, usage statistics, crash logs, advertising identifiers, or any other personal information.
Everything you create in Loreleaf — worlds, characters, locations, notes, tags, relationships, and any images you attach — is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage. It is included in your device's normal encrypted backups (iCloud or Finder/iTunes) only if you have those backups enabled, and in that case it is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's terms, never by us.
Loreleaf's AI brainstorming features — Name Forge, Story Sparks, and Deepen — run entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence (Apple's Foundation Models framework). Your prompts and your writing are processed locally and are never uploaded to us or to any third party, and never used to train any model. On devices that do not support Apple Intelligence, these features are unavailable and the app simply explains why; the rest of Loreleaf works normally.
If you generate a concept sketch for an entry, Loreleaf uses Apple's Image Playground system feature. Those prompts and images are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy and are not sent to us or used to train anything. Any resulting image you keep is stored locally with your entry, like any other attachment.
Loreleaf Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple handles the transaction and shares only anonymized, aggregate sales information with us. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles App Store purchases.
Loreleaf has no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs of any kind. The only external parties involved are Apple's own on-device and App Store systems described above.
Because Loreleaf collects no data at all, it collects no data from children. The app is suitable for all ages.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Since the app collects no data, any changes will be minor and clarifying.
